Abstract
Due to complex geometry (urban canyons generate multiple scattering) SAR images are difficult to interpret on urban areas. In order to characterize Non Line Of Sight (NLOS) scattering phenomenon at Ka band, measurement campaigns have been performed using the ONERA BUSARD motor glider. This platform was equipped with a dedicated Ka band SAR sensor. More than 10 measurements flights have been done, in 2011 and 2012, leading to the acquisition of a large radar dataset. 2011 results have highlighted various NLOS radar echoes and their measured distances agreed with theoretical evaluations. In 2012, additional geometrical configurations have been tested, including new interferometric single pass acquisitions.
