Abstract :
Radar resource management is often performed based on heuristics, according to the target threat level or on managing the uncertainty in some low-level quantities such as the target position and velocity. These approaches do not address explicitly the requirement for optimal situational awareness. For this reason, we propose performing radar resource management such that the uncertainty in higher level quantities, as for example in target threat level, is managed. In this way, the need for optimal situational awareness can be addressed.
