  • Abstract
According to the application of the dithering signal in Analog-to-Digital Conversion (ADC), this paper proposes an optimum condition of the dithering signal against the nonlinearity of quantization noise in ADC. Theoretical analysis and experimental results indicate that the optimum dithering signal can alleviate the nonlinear characteristics of quantization noise effectively, and reduce the effect of quantization noise on ADC performance, when the characteristic function of dithering signal equal to zero. The uniform distribution dithering signal which can improve the performance of the ADC proves the analysis and conclusions. Thus, this paper provides a reference to explore the optimized dithering signal against the quantization noise in ADC.
