Abstract
Active shielding has been previously considered as an effective means for the attenuation of extremely low frequency magnetic fields. In the present paper an effective (digital) discrete time controller for active shields is presented pointing out its capability to drive active circuits in order to generate a magnetic field with the same amplitude as the incident one but oppositely directed. The digital controller is tested with several magnetic field waveforms showing very good tracking capabilities due to its wide bandwidth. Finally the proposed discrete time controller is used to drive an active circuit to reduce the low frequency magnetic shield radiated by the power section of an electronic system
