Abstract :
This paper presented a novel substrate integrated nonradiative dielectric (SINRD) waveguide bandpass filter based on Print Circuit Boards (PCBs). Firstly, by drilling an array of square via-slot or circular via-slot patterns in a substrate we can realize a waveguiding dielectric channel similar to the canonical nonradiative dielectric (NRD) waveguide. Choosing the geometry of the via-slot patterns carefully could minimized the leakage loss which come from the uncovered part. Then, by applying the same principle of alternating-width type of NRD waveguide bandpass filter, we realized a SINRD waveguide bandpass filter in an advanced 3D electromagnetic field simulator. Simulation results demonstrated that the PCB version of SINRD waveguide filter is a promising component for the millimeter-wave applications.
