Abstract :
A typical 3GHz narrow-band quadrature hybrid coupler has been proposed and measured through rigorous steps. S matrix guides the design in distributed parameter model, which further lead to a microstrip model in Advanced Design System with consideration of loss. Both HFSS and CST are referred in to further optimize the detailed parameters. The measurement shows a well matching with simulation, while errors have been figured out and confirmed. A modified ground plane has been designed with a SRR structure, to fix the frequency shift in S31. Such a consideration may transit centre frequency of S31 into middle, which less loss is referred in.
