Abstract :
Inter-symbol interference(ISI) makes a bad effect for communication system, which will increase the bit-error-rate(BER). In this paper, Three iterative equalizers are firstly compared, include the minimum mean-square error (MMSE), the MMSE with decision feedback (MMSE-DFE) and the soft-feedback interference cancellation (SFIC) equalizer. To trade-off BER performance and complexity of three iterative equalizers, a low complexity hybrid iterative equalizer is proposed to improve performance in mitigating inter-symbol interference over high frequency(HF) which uses MMSE-DFE for the first iterative and uses SFIC the rest. Despite the low complexity, the proposed scheme achieves better performance than the conventional MMSE-DFE for 3.5dB.
