Abstract :
Spatio-temporal databases technology have evolved to track moving objects. Objects or data that are well-defined will be easier to be manipulated but some data have attributes that can´t be predicted so it needs additional handling technique to be able to adapt with the current system. This paper proposes architecture of a prototype for unpredictable data and moving object handling in a spatio-temporal system. The motivation for building an extended spatio-temporal with unpredictable data handling is first described. Then the criteria of the DBMSs that must be satisfied in order to be successful and useful both in practice and as a verification of the unpredictable data model is defined. Each spatio-temporal DBMS which currently exists, has its own characteristics and strengths in the effort to accomplish particular requirements. The tool´s capabilities that will be incorporated into fulfilling the prototype requirements are explored and analyzed. The result has three alternative solutions. Based on the selected solution, an architectural design of unpredictable data and moving object handling is developed to overcome the issues above. As a future research, some issues of unpredictable spatio-temporal system implementing directions are presented.
