  • Abstract
Component-Based Real-Time Systems (CBRTS) such as an automotive system are nowadays composed using many heterogeneous software components. In order to examine its behavior at different development phases and during the runtime, designers need to have a good amount of confidence that the CBRTS and its software components have a certain level of reliability before such a system is constructed. Architecture-Based Software Reliability Models (ABSRMs) are useful for estimating the architectural reliability of component-based systems for quality control purposes. However, due to the availability of a number of models spread over different ABSRM categories, it is difficult to know which one is a suitable choice for a particular system. In this paper, we describe a method for selecting a suitable ABSRM to estimate software reliability at the design phase of a CBRTS development.
