Abstract
MANET is a continuously self-configuring, infrastructure less networks consisting of mobile devices which are connected by no any wired connection. Mobile devices are always in moving state. While transmission of data from one node to another the nodes establish a path with the help of intermediate nodes. Due to the mobility of nodes in the network the malicious nodes can be easily introduced in the network and the network can be compromised. Because of dynamic nature of the network it is important to maintain the security of the network. The performance of the network depends on the behavior of the nodes. This paper proposes a analytical approach towards detection and removal of gray hole attack in the network. The probability of the each node is calculated and depending on that the node can be detected as malicious and removed from the network. The solution depends on the behavior of the node in the particular network.
