Abstract :
Two phase flow regime identification has ubiquitous applications in industries making it an important field of study. Vast number of methodologies has been designed for flow regime identification and one such method is dielectric measurement where the flow regime is identified using the changes in effective permittivity of the system due to varying void fraction. Two parallel copper plates placed on either sides of the diameter of the tube work as the dielectric sensor. The dielectric sensor is connected to the designed capacitance meter and the results are processed in graphical programming software LABVIEW. The slug, bubbly, stratified and annular flows are determined in a 3.4 mm diameter tube using this technique.
