Abstract
Traditional video streaming can be performed in two ways such as Video on Demand (VoD) and Live Video Streaming (LVS). In recent days, live video streaming in mobile devices has many issues such as buffering, delay, low bandwidth, screen resolution, limited computational energy, storage resources and connectivity loss. There arises a need that Video Streaming users must have the capability to deliver video content quickly without downloading the entire content. In order to ensure the Quality of Service, adaptive encoding is performed at the cloud server to meet the requirements of the mobile device. To address the mentioned issues, the proposed system provides continuous streaming of videos according to the current status of the mobile device and latency of the network. To achieve continuous streaming of video, the sliding window protocol and standard H.264 encoding technique are utilized. The sliding window protocol is used to predict the bandwidth and standard H.264 encoding technique is adopted to perform adaptive streaming. The proposed system is evaluated for various heterogeneous environments to support all kinds of mobile devices.
