Abstract :
Harsh industrial environment requires reliable and secure wireless networks for non-critical monitoring and alerting. To meet these requirements, the three mainstream wireless industrial standards use time division multiple access (TDMA) mechanism providing the full spectrum to deterministic access. In such networks, the number of sensors often varies that may cause whole network link rescheduling. For this reason, we propose link assignment algorithms with flexibility and scalability. Analytical results are shown which provide a quantitative estimation of performance, while simulation results show that the proposed technique reduces the number of communication cost and the total timeslots. It draws significant conclusions for realistic dynamic wireless sensor networks compared to existing scheduling algorithms with the aim to minimize latency for real-time communication.
