Abstract :
Webster signal timing method is adopted for single intersection based on investigation of path conditions and traffic flow. Key intersection and public cycle time are determined by comparing cycle time of all intersections. Based on the spacing between adjacent intersections and path speed, signal timing and phase difference are adjusted so that some vehicles can go through multi intersections continuously. Two intersections of Xinhua road and Jianshe road, Xinhua road and Jianghan north road in Wuhan city as an example, simulation of signal timing for multi intersections is implemented based on the vissim software, results show that the average of queue length and delay time are decreased after optimization.
