Abstract :
Design of an Ultra wide band (UWB) filter using broad side coupled lines in micro strip medium suitable for UWB communications has been presented in this Paper. Parameters of broad side coupled lines have been appropriately chosen to achieve ultra wide band response. Overall size of the filter is 23×15×0.78mm3. The ultra wide band filter is deployed on FR4 EPOXY dielectric substrate with thickness of 0.78mm. To avoid the inference from 5.15- 5.825 GHz band limited by IEEE 802.11a and HIPERLAN/2 a UWB filter with notch characteristics is proposed. The notch characteristics can be achieved by introducing the open stub in feed line. The proposed filter has been optimized using CST microwave studio software. This filter is operating in the pass band of 3.06 GHz to 10.66GHz, notch band from 4.64 to 5.99 GHz.
