Abstract
This paper presents Series Voltage regulator (SVR) placement in the distribution load flow calculations for different static load models for steady-state voltage compensation and loss reduction. The forward and backward sweep algorithm for SVR placement is used. The validity of the proposed model is examined using standard distribution systems consisting of 33 nodes. The best location of SVR for mitigation of under voltage problem, real power loss and reactive power loss reduction in the distribution systems is determined, separately for different static load models. This paper also studies the effect of winter and summer load variation on the system for SVR installation. The results show the validity of the proposed model for SVR in large distribution systems.
