  • Abstract
    According to the character of the statistical self-similarity profile of the partial discharge (PD) wave, this paper has adopted the grid fractal method to extract the fractal geometry dimension from the PD signals and then has adopted the fractal geometry dimension as a new feature in recognizing PDs. Theory and test results indicated that the fractal geometry dimension could be used as a new practical feature of PD signal recognition. It was shown this method possessed broad application prospects
