Abstract :
This paper presents the development of wireless power transfer receiver for mobile device charging. The receiver comprises of two parts; the first is an electromagnetic waves radiator which is developed using microstrip patch on dielectric substrate, while the second is a rectifier circuit which is designed using the voltage doubler circuit to operate at frequency of around 10MHz. Prior the hardware implementation, the performance of receiver is explored by using simulation to investigate the influence of level and frequency of input voltage to the DC output voltage of rectifier circuit. The radiator efficiency and the adequacy of rectifier circuit are also being focused matters in the investigation. From the characterization, it shows that the performances of realized rectifier circuit have a good agreement with the simulation results. The DC output voltage of rectifier circuit has the voltage deviation less than 2% for the operating frequency variation of input voltage up to 20%. While the radiator efficiency for a considerable gap is more than 45% for some level of input voltage variation.
