  • Abstract
This paper describes the analysis of the transmission characteristics on O/E and E/O conversion for Radio-on-Fiber (RoF) of wireless OFDM signals. RoF system is one of promising candidates for feature mobile wireless communication systems and several demonstrations were performed. The transmission performances of RoF are directly depended on the characteristics of O/E and E/O conversions. However, the conversion characteristics are not discussed for the digital wireless signals such as OFDM. In the experimental evaluations, we clarify the degradation of OFDM signals dependence on the dynamic range of LDs and PDs. For OFDM signals with PAPR (Peak-to-Average Power Ratio) of 10.5dB at CCDF (Complementary Cumulative Distribution Function) of 0.001%, we find out the optimal optical modulation index of 20%.
