Abstract :
A novel Mobile-WPT system using transmission-line coupling is investigated. The author proposes a novel system configuration, in which impedance matching circuit is separated from resonator. The impedance matching becomes controllable by variable capacitors. Reflected wave back to power source is suppressed by the combination of a pick-up and a reflector in receiving unit. Since there is no standing wave, influences due to radiation for other systems can be avoided. In addition, dynamic impedance matching circuit is investigated to reduce performance degradation caused by position fluctuation while driving. Further, a scheme for supplying electric power to multiple vehicles, which exist on one line-section, is studied. A demonstration system for miniature vehicles is fabricated. The effectiveness of the proposed system was confirmed.
