Abstract
In this paper an antenna structure consisting of two high gain circular monopole antennas separated by a planar reflector for UWB repeater applications is proposed. The antennas are fabricated using 0.787 mm thick RT Duroid. The two antennas are placed on either side of a reflector of size 70 mm × 70 mm at a spacing of 12.5 mm. S11 and S21 < −10 dB and −32 dB are obtained over 3.2–10.6 GHz. Individual antenna has a broadside directional radiation pattern and the structure has a bidirectional radiation pattern in both the planes. Each antenna offers gain of 7 – 10 dBi. The structure is fabricated and tested. Measured results agree with simulation results.
