Abstract :
Current research in bioresorbable electronics and biodegradable bacteria has promised the prospect of realizing a transient microbot (TM) system for targeted drug delivery (TDD). We analyze the TDD process using a communication model, where the remote controllability and tangibility of TMs lead to a touch-communication (TouchCom) paradigm. We also define the metrics of path loss, angular spectrum, and delay spectrum under the TouchCom framework. Finally, we investigate simulation tools for the propagation and transient characteristics of TMs in the blood vessels, which can be employed to evaluate the overall TDD efficiency.
