  • Abstract
    Terahertz research that involves wide-ranging topics including high speed communication, astronomic and atmospheric spectroscopy, defense and security screening and material research has been experiencing rapid growth in recent years. Apart from the THz components developed with optical method, this paper reviews some recent advances of terahertz passive and active components developed using electromagnetic method. Particularly, low cost, high integration capability and high performance THz components developed by using various low cost and high accuracy fabrication technologies have been introduced with some typical state-of-art results. It shows that it is possible to develop high performance and high integration low frequency THz (<2.0THz) components and systems using low cost processes.
