Abstract
The Wireless Communication and Power Transmission (WiCoPT) system, which can transfer data and power simultaneously, was proposed recently. This paper elucidates the RF-DC Power Conversion behavior of a rectifier suitable for a WiCoPT system with QPSK and 16QAM input signals. Using modulated signals instead of CW signals lowers the Power Conversion Efficiency (PCE) of the rectifier. The degree of degradation depends on the signal waveform. Input signals with low symbol-rates offer higher PCE than higher symbol-rate signals.
