Abstract :
A compact UWB Diversity antenna with WiMAX and WLAN band-notch characteristics is presented. The proposed structure consists of twin co-planar monopole antennas along with capacitively coupled spiral structure for notching WiMAX (3.3–3.6 GHz) band and rectangular complementary open ring resonator (RCORR) for notching WLAN (5.13–5.85GHz) band. A novel isolating structure of thin microstrip lines is used to reduce mutual coupling between coplanar antennas. Performance of the proposed antenna is analyzed through S-parameter, antenna gain and pattern measurements. Calculated envelope correlation coefficient (ECC), diversity gain and efficiency validate the suitability of the proposed antenna for UWB- Diversity applications.
