Abstract
Electric vehicle (EV) charging with wireless power transmission has drawn strong attention in recent years, with the increased emphasis on increasing EV introduction to the market. In designing the inductive wireless charging applications, loosely and strongly coupled wireless power transfer methods are discussed in this paper in view of their design considerations on power transfer capacity and system power transfer efficiency. The misalignment between transmitter and receiver coils can affect the capacity as well as the efficiency of the wireless charging.
