Abstract :
A novel K-band reflectarray is presented in this paper. The reflector is composed of a single-layer substrate with two dipole arrays printed on the top and bottom surfaces. A rectangular gain horn is employed to feed the antenna. Simulation shows that the novel periodic unit cell can provide a reflection phase range of over 360° and a slow slope of the phase variation curve, leading to a possible broadband reflectarray. The designed reflectarray, operating at 24GHz, is made up of 21×21 unit cells and its dimension is about 13cm×l3cm. Simulations show that a 3-dB gain bandwidth of about 31% is achieved, with single polarization and a peak gain of 28.4 dBi.
