Abstract :
Recently, a noise suppression sheet (NSS), which is composite of dielectric and magnetic materials, is widely used. And thinner NSS is demanded due to the narrow spaces inside electronic devices. This paper examines a method to reduce the thickness of NSS by using a periodic metal film. NSS with the periodic metal film is placed on the microstrip line, and the transmission characteristics are measured. As a result, the low-pass characteristic of MSL with NSS can be controlled by varying structure of the periodic metal film. Furthermore, the thickness of NSS can be reduced by 41.2% by attaching the periodic metal film.
