  • Abstract
    The current processes of collecting students attendant information are mostly manual. This research attempts to propose a more efficient Information Communication Technology (ICT) based process. The proposed design makes use of radio frequency (RF) as a means of communication between the Attendant Management Data Server (AMDS) and the RFID Card Readers (RCR) situated in the various classrooms or lecture halls. The Student Attendant Management Information System (SAMIS) was designed and tested. The SAMIS collects and manages students attendance records from RFID devices installed in the lecture halls. Based on the verification of student identification at the entrances by the RCR, the information is communicated to the AMDS. The proposed design provides interfaces for Administrators and the various stakeholders of the SAMIS. The implementation of this system will enhance both the attendant taking process and overall management of the attendant information.
