  • Abstract
    Traditional Malay house design is not the crucial element to be considered under the development planning of Malaysia. It is because the modernization and urbanization in Malaysia is most important thing to get entitle of successful country in a few years. So, this approach was resulting in the disappearance of its own identity in Malaysia. This study is conducted to influence the traditional Malay house design in future development resort to maintain the characteristics of Malay design but at the same time to achieve the title as successful country. The purposed of this study is to determine the spatial planning challenge in conserving the traditional Malay characteristics in resort development at Langkawi Island. The methodology that used in this study is adopted a mix method approach (quantitative as a core) to analyses the traditional Malay house design.
