Abstract
The performance of quadrature overlapping modulations over nonlinear land mobile satellite channels with fading on the downlink path is analyzed. Two quadrature overlapping modulations, QORC and PSKRT, are considered. Their performance is compared to QPSK and MSK. In the first system model, the quadrature overlapping modulations perform better than the conventional quadrature modulations due to their power efficiency. In the second model, they do not perform better than the conventional quadrature modulations mainly due to the ISI introduced by multipath fading
