Abstract :
This paper presents an evolutionary programming (EP)-based technique to solve for the optimal maintenance schedule (MS) of power generating units. The proposed technique decomposes the maintenance model into two interrelated subproblems namely; the maintenance and the power system subproblems. The paper reports test results on IEEE 30-bus system with 6 generating units. Compared with the results obtained using the method of complementary decision variables (CDV) structure, test results using the proposed technique are encouraging and indicate improvement
