  • Abstract
This paper describes a genetic algorithm approach to deal with congestion management in the context of a "counter-trading" based method. The originality of this work is that a Nash-Cournot equilibrium is determined to assess the behavior of the various electricity producers connected to a transmission system. The congestion management is computed using a complete transmission grid model so that the active power is considered, as well as the reactive one. Numerical examples based on a 12 bus network are presented, including multifirm Nash-Cournot equilibrium results.
