Abstract
A hybrid negotiation mechanism is proposed to facilitate multi agent manufacturing system. The multi agent manufacturing system consist three types of agents: product agent, order agent, and resource agent. At the beginning of each production period, order agent negotiates with resource agents to determine feasibility of order and acquire resource for order processing. The negotiation model is bilateral and the objective of negotiation process is to enhance order response speed of the manufacturing system and minimize system tardiness loss through dynamic resource allocation. The presented negotiation mechanism incorporates value based bids evaluating and preemption scheme, and negotiation process is limited by time. More cases are considered for preemption to make system more flexible.
