Abstract
A new distributed power balancing algorithm for CDMA is introduced and its convergence property examined. According to this algorithm, each base station only needs signal-to-interference ratios of its adjacent 6 cells to adjust its users´ transmission power. It is shown that the algorithm provides advantages over conventional power control in terms of system capacity and is particularly attractive in the situation when a “hot” traffic spot develops
