Abstract :
In this paper we review a suite of highly accurate, yet extremely efficient, simulation techniques based upon semianalytical approaches that we have successfully developed. In these approaches, physically appropriate approximations are made that significantly simplify the analyses, without compromising accuracy. Up to date applications of the techniques in photonic circuits analysis, synthesis and as a part of hybrid numerical: semianalytic design tools are discussed.
