Abstract :
In this paper, a fault-tolerant five-phase flux switching machine is considered for embedded applications. Machine behavior in case of open-circuit on a single phase and two adjacent and non-adjacent phases, is developed. In this paper, only the fault on a single phase is detailed. Reference currents reconfiguration method is developed to improve the whole operation, using an optimization algorithm whose objectives are a fault-tolerant control strategy and a minimum loss control strategy. Both cases will be analyzed and a comparison of machine performances in healthy, faulty and reconfigured mode is presented and validated experimentally.
