Abstract :
This paper deals with performance analysis and implementation of three phase inverter fed induction motor drive system. The closed loop control scheme of the drive utilizes the digital phase locked loop (DPLL) in the speed control loop. The former is implemented using the well known integrated circuit 4046. A linear continuous model of the drive is developed. The stability of the whole system in closed loop is analyzed using Hurwitz - Routh criterion and the stability limits on the low pass filter (LPF) time constant are predicted. The PLL control law sensitivity against induction motor (IM) parameters variation is studied. An experimental verification is carried out on one kw scalar controlled induction motor drives for a wide range of speeds, loads and stator resistance.
