  • Abstract
The aim of this paper is to present the analysis and prototyping of an axial flux permanent magnet synchronous machine dedicated to a small wind turbine. The analysis of the generator was made with a quasi-3D analytical model based on a multi-slice 2D analytical solution of Maxwell equations coupled sequentially to a thermal model and a mechanical model. The designed generator is a 10 kW, 375 rpm, stator-rotor-stator structure with 20 poles, 24 slots, and modular windings. Results issued from measurements are satisfactory compared to those issued from analytical model.
