Abstract
In this paper, a new novel adaptive quadrature modulation compensation (QMC) scheme is proposed for direct conversion transmitter, which can compensate either the I/Q imbalance or carrier leakage and requires no special waveforms or training sequences. By analyzing the error of quadrature modulation, a distortion model is designed. Based on the distortion model, the adaptive QMC algorithm is presented, and the implementation structure of the algorithm is introduced. The simulation results show that this algorithm can accurately estimate and correct I/Q imbalance and the DC offset.
