  • Abstract
Compared to manual operation, machine vision has the following advantages: fast speed, high precision, long continuous working time, low request to working environment. Therefore it becomes more and more popular in the field of automated production. Now the wounds of the battery is generally detected by manual inspection. In order to improve the efficiency of detection, a method based on machine vision is proposed in this paper. Binarization transformation and close operation will be used for processing images of batteries. Finally a conclusion will be made by counting the number of connected regions. This method is very effective for the detection of broken skin and does not need complex spectral analysis. It can also be applied to other production lines such as food and drug.
