Abstract
On-time delivery is a crucial objective for the software industry. Yet, the software industry continues to be plagued by schedule slippage. The purpose of this research is to assist software managers to identify major causes of schedule slippage, manage schedule risks, and recognize effective solutions for today´s software development projects. In order to get current, sufficient, and precise information, and draw reliable conclusions, we conducted an industry survey. Conclusions derived from the related work and our survey are compared
