Low cost congestion detection

The Highways Agency has been researching innovative means of obtaining congestion information from their motorway network. The author commissioned and managed deployment of approximately 40 devices onto the motorway network over the summer of 2013. The data was fed back into the South West Regional Control Centre. This trial showed such potential of the technology, the trial has been extended with final results due at the end of summer 2014, and will be presented at the conference.
