Abstract :
In recent years, the study of IoT (Internet of things) has been expanded to M2M (machine to machine) and V2V (vehicle to vehicle) communication using image information. Accurate image sensing is required for this kind of technology. This paper describes a normalized numeric image descriptor used to assess the luminance and contrast of the image. The proposed image descriptor uses each pixel´s data as a weighted value of the probability density function. It is further defined by normalization for objective representation. The proposed numeric image descriptor can be used in the adaptive gamma process because it suggests an objective basis of the gamma value selection. In particular, it is possible to use tone mapping in illumination changes and low illumination because of its high dynamic range.
