  • Abstract
The development of wireless technology in the telecommunications field requires the miniaturization of patch antennas. Several methods are used to achieve this objective. In this work, our process is to introduce anisotropic materials such as ferrites in the design of such antennas. The high refractive index of ferrite at microwave frequencies allows reducing of the dimensions of the printed antenna. Therefore, we find that ferrite films are used more widely in the propagation of electromagnetic waves for various kinds of microwave devices. To investigate the importance of the inclusion of ferrite films on the patch antenna at the resonant frequency of the antenna, and their effect on the performance of the patch antenna, we made a comparison between a patch antenna with a dielectric substrate, and a patch antenna loaded with thin layers of demagnetized ferrite (high permeability scalar).
