Abstract :
In this paper, a single-layer compensated Marchand balun with arbitrarily chosen connecting line segment has been presented. It has been shown that the utilization of connecting line compensation technique together with the method of capacitive and inductive coupling coefficients´ equalization in coupled-lines allows for reduction of the required number of compensating elements. The theoretical investigation has been verified by electromagnetic simulations and measurements of Marchand balun designed in a microstrip technique, operating at f0 = 1.3 GHz and terminated at the input and output with 70 Ω and 100 Ω, respectively.
