  • Abstract
In order to increase the efficiency of magnetostatic shields materials with higher magnetic permeability or multilayer structures can be used. In this paper the second approach is evaluated. Three types of spherical shields are described: one, two and three layer. The efficiency of each is computed, using the total scalar potential, and compared with the analytical values. A good agreement was observed. Also the influence of the air gap on the efficiency of the shield was evaluated. An approximation of the dependence of S with the air gap was computed.
