Abstract
EEG signal processing is a complex task that requires many (pre)processing steps, due to the low signal-to-noise ratio. Challenging approaches are continuously developed, to improve the performance of signal analysis methods. This study was performed to demonstrate the advantages of ICA algorithm in EEG signal processing and its impact in emphasizing the brain activity similarities and the differences when considering the investigation of real and imaginary movements. For this reason, a stimuli system based on a non-invasive synchronous Brain-Computer Interface application was used, as described in our previous works.
