Abstract :
In this paper, we propose a least square (LS) approach to estimate channel using the pilot transmission for the decode-and-forward (DF) and the estimate-and-forward (EF) protocols in cooperative wireless communications. In EF scheme estimate channel of the source-to-relay(SR) link for calculating the cooperative maximum ratio combining (C-MRC) compared with DF protocol by the maximum ratio combining (MRC). We observed performance of the proposed scheme by simulation. Furthermore, simulation results show the performance of the proposed LS channel estimation in EF scheme is at least 1-dB higher than DF protocol.
