  • Abstract
    The governing equations for pulse propagation in a birefringent fibre are examined. The nature of the destructive interaction due to a resonant interaction between radiation in the complementary mode of one soliton pulse interacting strongly with the second soliton pulse in that mode is discussed. The purpose of the article is to outline a general method within which perturbative effects can be described
